I was fixing up the site this morning, which sometimes seems like just a jumble of broken links, when I came to the HEX animation page. It needed some Google analytics code and metatags so that maybe, some day, some one will find it!
It's a pretty good animation. I was humiliated by it earlier, or slightly bemused (where did that come from?), relieved it was done and glad it was obscure. But now I like it. It's very angry and poignant, historical and techno. Ever study Assembly language? Ada Lovelace & Charles Babbage? This animation is for you!
It was rejected by SIGGRAPH in 2008. Nothing new there. Oh well. Here are some stills from HEX:

How does this relate to Mother Goose? Well, I do a lot of creative stuff besides the web site. And I love early American art and witchy things like Hex Signs. And Mother Goose supposedly lived in Boston in the early 1700's and even knew Cotton Mather....!
If you have a chance, check out HEX on MotherGoose.com. You'll find it here: http://mothergoose.com/Leslie_Wilson_Art/hex/playHex.htm
The fat begins to fry,
Nobody at home but Jumping Joan,
Father, Mother, and I.
Stick, stock, stone dead,
Blind man can't see;
Every knave will have a slave,
You or I must be he.
